Morgan Motor Company Case Study Prezi

Morgan Motor Company is a family-owned manufacturer that hand-builds iconic British sports cars, famous the world over for their unique blend of craft, heritage and pure driving experience.

The Morgan Motor Company Ltd. was established in 1909 by H.F.S. Morgan with the design of the now iconic Morgan Three-Wheeler. This was followed in 1936 by the Morgan 4-4, which continues to be produced today, and is the longest running production car in the world.

The ethos at Morgan has remained unchanged for over 100 years: from research and design, to paint and trim, every Morgan is coach built for the customer at Morgan’s Pickersleigh Road factory at the foot of the Malvern Hills.

Leading design capability, an extensive array of luxurious materials and the latest drive-train technologies combine to create unparalleled pure driving pleasure.

Every Morgan is expertly crafted using three core elements: ash, aluminium and leather. Each Morgan is truly unique, hand-built to the highest standard by passionate craftspeople, who perfect their skill over a lifetime to bring together heritage, innovation and cutting-edge technology.

Whether it be the lively Classic Range sports car, the extravagant high performance Aero supercar or the truly unique and characterful Morgan 3-Wheeler, every last detail is tailored to the customer’s specification, creating a truly bespoke Morgan.

The evolution of the Morgan model-range has taken the marque into the 21st Century, and today Morgan builds just 850 cars per year. The Aero 8 was launched in 2000, and continual evolution of the Aero Range has seen the 8 joined by the dramatic Aeromax, Aero SuperSports and Aero Coupe. In 2015 the company launched the latest Aero 8, complete with a strengthened chassis and newly designed body.

In 2011, after an absence of over 50 years, Morgan re-introduced the Morgan 3 Wheeler, a modern interpretation of H.F.S. Morgan’s classic design. Morgan’s first production electric vehicle, the EV3, was launched at the Geneva Motor Show in 2016, and is based on the popular 3 Wheeler.

The Morgan Classic Range continues to be the most popular model within the Morgan range – with models including the 4/4, the Plus 4, the Roadster and the Plus 8, which is an exhilarating cross-over between the Classic and Aero Ranges.

The family atmosphere at the factory in the beautiful spa town of Malvern, Worcestershire, is one that is cordially extended to all customers and enthusiasts. Prospective owners are encouraged to visit Morgan’s Pickersleigh Road factory to watch their car being built and to choose from a wide range of paint and leather-trim options, along with the extra details that make each Morgan unique to its owner.

A unique spirit of adventure and race-winning pedigree is represented in every car that is crafted, with every Morgan subjected to continuous development in order to meet current standards of safety and to offer the responsive thoroughbred performance of a true driver’s car.

We are DRIVEN at heart.

A Morgan, by very nature, has always been about a pure driving experience. A direct connection between man and machine, the open road and a sense of adventure are qualities that have stayed true throughout the 107 years of the Malvern based company. As part of a growing range of lifestyle accessories, all designed to enhance that driving pleasure, Morgan desired to create a unique pair of sunglasses. It was clear, they needed to reflect the cars in their design and stand out whilst remaining stylish, clear qualities of the company itself. Introduce the young and exciting British company, Taylor Morris…

Taylor Morris Eyewear was established in 2013 by best friends, Hugo Taylor and Charlie Morris. A fellow British company, Taylor Morris’ harmonious amalgamation of classical design with modern materials, innovative design features and fine craftsmanship made them an obvious choice for Morgan. The comparisons between Taylor Morris and Morgan were evident from the beginning of the collaboration and their hunger and desire to create a shape as iconic as the vehicles themselves was clear.
